Former Kisumu Central MCA Fred Ouda shocked Kenyans when he publicly asked and invited Garissa Township MP Aden Duale to fight with him.
Ouda who was angered by Duale’s alleged attacks on Raila Odinga over Eurobond debate, said that he longs to meet and fight with Duale.
“I can no longer take Duale’s remarks against Raila lightly," Ouda (now Kisumu senator) said.
I want to assure him (Duale) that I will face him head on along the streets of Nairobi or Garissa should I meet him,” he said.
At a press briefing in Kisumu on 26 October, 2015, Ouda accused Duale of ignorantly mentioning Raila in a matter he was not knowledgeable about.
The MCA asked Duale to face him instead of attacking and insulting Raila.
The alleged Eurobond scandal created heated debate in the country with Raila claiming that the money had been swindled and hidden in foreign accounts.
Duale alongside other Jubilee luminaries, however, dismissed Raila’s claims terming them malicious.
The Eurobond debate later fizzled out in the run up to the repeat presidential election in October 2017.
