Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday visited the late Joe Kadenge's home in South B estate, Nairobi.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Sonko eulogized the deceased as a man who promoted local football. 

He vowed to stand with the family, and support them as they plan to give Kadenge a descent send-off.

"Condoled with family of the late, Joe Kadenge at his home in South B.The legendary footballer will be remembered for his exploits in the field and his efforts in promoting local football. Lets remember his family in prayers, and support during this difficult moment. May his soul RIP," he said.

Kadenge was a great footballer who many will live to remember. 

He died on Sunday after a long struggle with illness. His death is a big blow not only to his family, but also to the entire nation. 

Various top leaders including Deputy President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga have also visited the family of the football icon at his home in South B, Nairobi. 

Funeral arrangements are underway with reports indicating that the deceased will be laid to rest at Hamisi village, Vihiga County on July 20.

The entire burial process is expected to cost approximately Sh5 million.
