This comes days after Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe told Ruto to shun his 2022 presidential bid and instead retire alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

But speaking during a bullfighting event at Malinya, Kakamega county on Monday, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri said that indeed there is no agreement.

He said that the existing MoU is between Ruto and the electorate basing on the Jubilee government's promises and that he has been toiling to keep his side of the bargain.

"The MoU exists between a leader and the voters depending on service delivery. In this case, we have a MoU between Jubilee members, our candidate William Ruto and the electorate,” he was quoted by the Nation.

He spoke in the presence of the Deputy President.

Later in the day, another group of Kikuyu elders confirmed that there exists no agreement that the community will back Ruto for his role in Uhuru's 2013 and 2017 election.

Ruto has since insisted that he will not sit back and expect the votes, but will instead go all out to pull it out.
