Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale has found himself at loggerheads with Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s son, Ian Oparanya.
Ian on Tuesday asked Khalwale to desist from measuring the influence of a leader based on the number of times he/she has lost in elections.
This was after he dismissed ODM’s Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna terming him a loser.
“Edwin Sifuna is a nobody in the politics of this country! He is nothing! He has contested in Bungoma, in Kanduyi constituency, and he has not been able to go beyond nominations,” said the former senator on NTV’s AM Live show.
However, in a fiery tweet, the Kakamega Governor’s son hit out at Khalwale who contested against his father in the 2017 general election.
“Boni Khalwale it’s high time you stop measuring people on the number of times they lose elections wewe you lost elections to Oparanya in Ikolomani we can also consider you as nothing...nobody loses an election in their own home,” tweeted Ian.
But Khalwale could not take it. He responded to Ian alleging that Oparanya’s victory in last year’s polls was computer-generated.
“Ua (sic) father’s loss to me in 2017 is in public domain. Be contented with his computer-generated ‘win’ en if u are looking for battle choose from ua ilk.”
Ian went on to lambast Khalwale decrying that he is a liar. "Boni I respect my elders but I lost respect when I realised you are a professional liar who uses lies to lie to poor people to vote for you I can’t wait for you to lose in 2022...we will pop another bottle of champagne to celebrate your loss...”
In response, Khalwalwe asked Ian to respect his elders. "Kijana, careful. There is life after ua (sic) father leaves office!"
Khalwale has been Oparanya's biggest critic. Before the 2017 polls, he severally accused the governor of running the county south.
However, Oparanya in clap back said attacks by Khalwale who was then the Kakamega Senator were mere political stunts to tarnish his image.#hivisasaoriginal
