Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i on Wednesday disclosed that he reports to President Uhuru Kenyatta on a weekly basis.
Speaking during an interview at a local FM radio station Matiang'i said he only reports directly to the president on the progress of government projects.
"I chair meetings with Cabinet secretaries where we discuss on the progress of various government projects. After the meetings I compile reports which I submit to the president on a weekly basis," said Matiang'i.
He also revealed that he coordinates government projects across the country.
"My work is also to ensure government projects which are being done by contractors are of a good standard. I won't condone shoddy work," he stated.
Matiang'i appealed to his colleagues in Cabinet to competently deliver.
"We are appointed by the President to help him deliver his promises towards the realization of the Big 4 Agenda. We should not give excuses as to why we can't offer our best since we have all the tools which will enable us to work," he added.
He assured that he is capable of coordinating government projects as well his docket.
