Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has denied misusing public funds at the expense of development.
Mboko, a former Mombasa women representative, has insisted that all funds channeled to the county through her office can be accounted for.
Speaking at Shika Adabu Primary School in Likoni during the commissioning of 32 toilets undergoing renovation for Sh7 million, Mboko said that all projects initiated since she entered into office following her election are meant to transform the lives of the residents and not avenues of siphoning funds from the public finance kitty.
She faulted her critics for trying to blackmail her using underhand tactics.
She noted that the facilities were in a pathetic condition before the National Government Constituency Development Fund was unveiled to change their look.
She further claimed that her rivals have been paying some people to spread malicious rumours about her leadership, but maintained that she will not be cowed
"There are those who are paid to spread lies about me but my record is clean," told the Standard.
The lawmaker, who was elected through an ODM party ticket, has assured her supporters and the rest of the constituents of transformation before she completes her term in 2022.
