Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said that Nairobi County can learn key tips from Kisumu.
Through his social media account, Kuria called on Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to take a trip to Kisumu and learn from his counterpart Anyang Nyong'o.
Kuria further claimed Nairobi county will soon go to the dogs if drastic measures are not put in place immediately.
''Nairobi will lose its regional competitiveness unless we have a functional public transport system. And this is not about building more roads. It's about ensuring we have a system that brings into and out of the city the highest number of people with the highest standards of convenience. The traffic jams in this city can drive anyone insane,'' Kuria wrote.
The controversial lawmaker advised Sonko to stop focusing on building more roads and concentrate more on cleaning the city and roll out the Bus Rapid Transit to deal with the public transport menace.
''If I were Governor Mike Sonko, I would suspend all programmes and just focus on three things namely 1. Keep Nairobi clean. Perhaps visit Kisumu for a benchmark. Kisumu is incredibly clean. Governor Anyang Nyingo is working. 2. Implement the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). 3. Implement intra city Light Rail system. Rest can come up later,'' he added.
Over the recent past, Sonko has come under sharp criticism for failing to deliver his election promise.
