Over the weekend, an angry Ruto accused Raila of allegedly plotting to push him out of Jubilee, a claim which ODM has dismissed.

But on his Facebook page, Ngunjiri, a strong critic of Ruto, accused the DP of undermining decisions made by the president.

“Ruto is intent on portraying Uhuru as not knowing what he is doing. His outbursts are meant to undermine Uhuru as a President by showing that he made a wrong decision," he said.

Mr. Ruto, who is keen to succeed President Kenyatta, has intensified his campaigns with perceived ODM strongholds being his targets.

His ally, Kipchumba Murkomen, insists that the DP's remarks were merely meant to warn his competitors.

"He just warned detractors and not Uhuru. He is worried of someone working hard to frustrate him from within," he said.

But Wambugu, a close confidant of Uhuru, insists that the DP is keen to see Uhuru's legacy tainted.
