A woman from Matutu in Naymira County was on Sunday arrested after she was found with over 500 litres of illicit brew.
The suspect, Mercy Kwamboka Lazarus is reportedly said to have been in the business of selling chang'aa for a while.
The public tipped off police of her continued rogue dealings on Saturday.
Confirming the incident, area police boss Michael Lesman said the suspect has been among notorious illicit brew dealers under the police's radar.
"The suspect was found in a probox car ferrying the illicit brew. The driver of the probox car escaped on foot to a bush when police officers stopped the car for inspection," he said.
Lesman said that after inspection, chang'aa was found packed in 5-litre jerrycans put in sacks.
He added that upon questioning, the suspect revealed that she has been buying chang'aa from Suneka area in Kisii where she later sells in Mwongori village in Borabu.
"She revealed where she has been buying illicit brew from," said the police boss.
The police boss reiterated that the war on illicit brew dealers is ongoing.
He warned traffic police officers against colluding with rogue traders.
Kwamboka was charged on Monday.
