National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) registration in Malindi sub-county is experiencing delays following slow response of the NIIMS gadgets as the turn increases.
Assistant Deputy Commissioner, John Kipsiwa, told the press on Thursday that the challenge is due to outages emanating from the server systems as the process gets to its second day.
The NIIMS registration, also known as ‘Huduma Namba,’ which was officially launched on April 2 by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Machakos and other leaders countrywide took off on Wednesday in all 31 sub-locations of Malindi.
Speaking in his office, Kipsiwa said that the registration process starts from 7 am to 5 pm daily, including public holidays and weekends for the next 45 days.
“Even though we have challenges with the system, we have a positive turn out in Malindi because we involved all the stakeholders in the mobilization process,” he added.
Kispsiwa urged residents to feel free and turn up for the registration, adding that the government program went through all the necessary legal requirements.
