For five days now, Jubilee Deputy Party Leader William Ruto has been missing in action, a rare occurrence throughout his political career that has lasted for two decades.
Over Christmas, Ruto was last seen on Thursday at his Sugoi home where he hosted delegation from Bomet and Vihiga Counties but has since hibernated.
The DP, who is active on social media, last updated his Facebook account on January 3 and would miss Monday's ground breaking ceremony for Sh1 billion Mama Ngina Regeneration in Mombasa.

On Saturday, Ruto was again on the receiving end where he was asked to retire jointly with President Uhuru Kenyatta. David Murathe, Uhuru's handler who made the remarks, has since resigned from his post as Jubilee party Vice Chair.
But the DP, who snubbed Mombasa event, has been responding through his allies, with Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri accusing Uhuru of betraying his loyal principal assistant.
"If you're tired in leading, kindly resign. We are ready for elections. Ruto campaigned for you because you did not have time to do so. We cannot allow you to continue subjecting Kikuyus in Rift Valley in danger," he said.
