The African High Representative on Infrastructure Development has now challenged the second in command to demand answers from President Uhuru Kenyatta on why he is the main target in the war against graft.

Speaking after meeting a section of elders from the Kalenjin community, Raila said that he is not to blame for the woes of Ruto.

He said Ruto, who is eyeing the nation’s top seat, can only get an explanation over his links to endless graft related cases from the Head of State and not him.

“I don’t want to talk about Ruto. If he feels that he is being targeted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), then he should ask the President. Corruption is a cancer that must be dealt with, although within the confines of the law. The DCI and DPP should speed up the investigations and jail those benefiting from it.

“This battle is not aimed at any individual, but if you think it is targeting you, then you should find out why," said Odinga as quoted by Standard.

The Luo political kingpin insisted that the nation has continued to lag behind in terms of development because of massive cases of graft in different ministries.

He said that the only way the President and his team will leave behind a legacy is by ensuring that graft is a thing of the past.

He also said that he is ready to support President Kenyatta to end graft before he completes his second and final term in government.
