Speaking when he sent a condolence message to the family of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, whose brother was found dead on Wednesday, Uhuru said that his government is committed to protecting citizens of this country.

He noted that he is concerned with the rising cases of massive killings in different parts of the nation and urged police to pull up their socks.

"President Kenyatta said rogue elements cannot be allowed to continue violating innocent Kenyans. He said the recent wave of killings in Matungu and in other parts of the country are regrettable and asked the police to bring the perpetrators of those acts to book," State House tweeted.

Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, also said that the rising cases of Kenyans being killed by mysterious gangs are alarming.

He further assured the nation that he will not sit back and watch innocent taxpayers being murdered in cold blood as long as he remains in power.

"President Kenyatta has asked law enforcement authorities to stop the rising cases of killings being witnessed in the country. The President said the rising cases of mysterious killings involving innocent Kenyans across the country are alarming," added State House.
