A section of politicians allied to Ruto have openly linked the graft war with 2022 politics with some accusing OP for allegedly orchastrating Ruto's downfall through lifestyle audit.

But in Athi River on Friday, Uhuru indirectly responded to the team, insisting that his fight us genuine.

“No one is being targeted and we will not be distracted by those politicising the fight.

"Even if you are my sister, brother or mother, you will not be spared. If you are innocent, let us see that in court,” the President said on Friday.

In recent weeks, Uhuru has insisted that the fight against graft is one of his legacy adding that 'not even his family' will be spared.

Vocal Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and a host of Rift Valley leaders have before read sinister motive in Uhuru's campaign.

"This war is not genuine. It has something to do with 2022 and we shall fight back," he had said.
