President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained that striking nurses will not get a pay rise.
The Head of State while speaking on Wednesday when he commissioned various health infrastructure at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital said there is no money for the nurses.
"My government has no money to pay nurses. We can't continue having people striking each and every time to blackmail the government. Nurses should resume work or they be sacked," he said.
Mr. Kenyatta said he is focused on the development and not rising salaries for a few individuals.
"Kenyans deserve development and not listening to few individuals pushing for a pay rise. The government Big 4 Agenda must be realized through proper use of public funds but, not paying people," he added.
He vowed to continue uniting all people so as to hasten the pace of development.
The President appealed to elected leaders to prioritize development across all corners of this country saying retrogressive politics will hinder development.
"Elected leaders should keep off talking about 2022 polls. Let them deliver first to the electorates since in 2022 they will be questioned," said Mr. Kenyatta.
