Nominated senator Isaac Mwaura has said there is a crisis in the Jubilee Party.
This comes after senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen acknowledged that the Jubilee Party was undergoing a number of challenges.
"There are problems in Jubilee, let's not lie to each other," he said.
Speaking during an interview on AM Live at NTV, Mwaura claimed that Jubilee members were being told to choose between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his DP Ruto.
"We are being told to choose between Team Tanga Tanga, which is about Ruto's 2022 succession politics, and Team Kieleweke, which focuses on Uhuru's Big Four and the unity agenda. That's the truth," Mwaura said.
Mwaura affirmed that there was also a clash of opinion between the two factions.
"There is a diversity of opinion around what the Team Tanga Tanga stands for and what Team Kieleweke is all about," he said.
The MP warned if the emerging issues are not addressed soon, then things could fall apart for the ruling party before 2022.
"Jubilee is the biggest political party both in the National Assembly and the Senate, and I want to say this without fear, Jubilee must remain united, otherwise our own squabbles will reduce the chances of Ruto becoming president," he said.
