There was drama on Monday evening at Keera village in Nyatieko, Mosocho in Kisii County after a chang'aa brewer chased a local chief and four Nyumba Kumi officials from his homestead after they stormed the chang'aa den to destroy illicit brew.
Witnesses said it was around 6 pm when the chief Lawrence Omari with four Nyumba Kumi officials scampered for safety from Douglas Osoti's homestead.
"The chief with his men stormed Osoti's home to destroy illicit brew but, Osoti picked a machete which he used to chase them away. The chief run and hide in a nearby hotel as Nyumba Kumi officials escaped on a motorbike," said Elvis Motari.
Mr. Motari said efforts by members of the public to snatch a machete from Motari's energetic hands were in vain.
"Osoti was baying for the chief's blood but, luckily the administrator escaped. He threatened to behead the chief next time if he steps at his homestead," stated Motari.
The chief while speaking after Osoti left to his home said he will not succumb to cheap threats.
"I had to flee for my safety but, I promise to ensure Osoti is nabbed and taken to court for engaging in illegal business," said the chief.
