Governor Ongwae argued that Mr. Obado is being blackmailed due to his political stand in the Luo Nyanza.

"The way Obado is being mishandled is worrying. He is a leader who must be respected. Detaining him in remand on claims that investigations are ongoing is illegal," said Ongwae.

The ODM governor noted that the High Court Judge Jesse Lessit should review her decision.

"Lessit must know Obado is a governor who must be in office to his people and not remanding him. I feel the pain the people of Migori are currently undergoing," he noted.

The county boss asked politicians to stop celebrating the wrangles Mr. Obado is facing.

He was speaking at Nyamache Green Stadium on Thursday.

Ongwae is one of the senior politiacin from Gusii region in the ODM party.
