There was drama in a village in Kisii on Saturday after a lorry driver was caught having sex with a married woman in his vehicle which had been parked on the side of the road.
The incident occurred at Nyagewekoa village in Bomwanda area, Bonchari, Kisii County.
Witnesses said the lorry driver, identified as Johannes Omweri, lured the woman, Magdalene Nyanchoka, into the lorry where they ended up having sex.
"It was raining and Omweri asked Magdalene to take shelter inside the lorry which he had parked on the roadside. When it stopped raining, Magdalene never came out of the vehicle, prompting me to check what was happening," said Robert Ouru, a witness.
Mr Ouru said he peeped through the lorry's windscreen only to see Omweri half naked, having sex with Magdalene.
"I saw them having sex in the vehicle and that is when I raised alarm. Members of the public rushed to the scene and we forced the two to alight from the lorry," he said.
Area assistant chief Zachary Orero who confirmed the incident said the residents caned the two before surrendering them to his office.
"The woman confessed that Omweri lured her into sex after paying her Sh300," he said.
The assistant chief also noted that Magdalene's husband had threatened to throw her out after receiving news of the incident.
"Magdalene's husband said he will not continue living with her since she had turned into a sex worker by sleeping with men carelessly," said Mr Orero.
