Opposition leader Raila Odinga is in Ghana for the funeral of former United Nations (UN) Secretary General the late Kofi Annan.
Accompanying the former Prime Minister is his young sister and former Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga.
In a tweet, Odinga noted that he paid respect to the late Kofi Annan ahead of his burial, Thursday.
"I joined other leaders in paying respect and viewing of the body of former UN Secretary General Dr @KofiAnnan who shall be buried tomorrow. May his soul forever rest in eternal peace," he tweeted.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka also travelled to Ghana for the funeral and is expected to represent President Uhuru Kenyatta who is away.
It is not clear in what capacity Ms Odinga accompanied his elder brother, but the trip speaks a lot.
The fact that she accompanied the Opposition Chief could mean that she is being groomed to take over after her brother retires, considering that no other member of the Odinga family is currently involved in active politics.

It could also just be a family affair where she was selected to attend the event as part of the larger Odinga family consider the close ties between the Oginga's and the late Annan's family.
