Former Kitui Woman Representative Nyiva Mwendwa has urged Ukambani leaders to stop fighting each other.
Mwendwa said some leaders paint the community's image negatively by attacking each other verbally.
He asked Kamba leaders to unite instead of confronting one another.
She said the Kamba community must stand united to claim top leadership positions in the country.
“It feels bad to see some of our senior politicians and leaders engaging in political barbs,” Mwendwa said.
Mwendwa addressed the press in Kitui on Thursday.
He said the Kamba community stands to gain nothing if leaders are not united.
Mwendwa said elected leaders from the region should focus on development and shun early 2022 campaigns.
She said residents yearn for services which elected leaders must provide.
A section of Ukambani leaders is not seeing eye to eye as some eye the 2022 presidential election.
Two weeks ago, Ukambani governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) formed the Peoples Empowerment Movement (EPM) to champion development.
