For some time now, a section of Kenyans has been questioning Ruto's source of wealth after reports emerged in April that the DP had purchased a Sh1 billion chopper which arrived in the country in June.

The chopper, Airbus H145, is said to be the most expensive one in the country, as is it said to be the only privately-owned chopper with night vision capabilities.

However, during an event in Murang'a on Friday, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria claimed ownership of the chopper, adding that he has been lending it to the DP.

"The principal of this school said DP Ruto's chopper landed in this school, let us say the truth as Christians. That chopper is mine. I'm the one who lent it to him, a point of correction please," said Kuria, as residents burst into laughter.

Kuria's remarks were echoed by Ruto, who praised the MP for always speaking the truth.

The DP hit out at those whom he said have been spreading propaganda about ownership of the chopper, adding that they now know the truth.

"As my brother Moses Kuria has put it, those who have been bothering me about the chopper now have answers. The rightful owner of the chopper has been revealed. The chopper belongs to Moses Kuria who has been lending it to me and allowing me to use it from time to time. To all those who had questions now you have the answers, stop spreading propaganda. Let us tell the truth and shame the devil," said DP Ruto.
