Jackline Mwende, a victim of gender-based violence from Masii village, Machakos County is now healthy and kicking.
Even though August 4, 2016, still remains fresh in her mind as if it happened yesterday, Mwende says she has forgiven her husband, Stephens Ngila.
However, she has asked the government not to set him free since because she fears for her life.
Nonetheless, many will want to know where exactly is Mwende after the tragic incident.
After she was admitted to Kikuyu Hospital, Mwende, a class eight drop out was met some well-wishers from Germany who helped her be fitted with prosthetic limbs after her arms were chopped off by her husband of seven years.
According to her doctor, Michael Mary, he helped Mwende to find aid from the Life is Good (LG) company. The company settled her medical bills.
Mwende was later taken to Methodist University through the initiative of the same German organisation and hopes to complete her studies and start a new life.
Further, she got a new home. Her bitter experience in marriage has made her shut the doors to her heart for any prospective partner.
"I am not ready to get married. All I want to hear from a man is how he can help me go to school and study more," says Mwende.
