Speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show Tuesday morning,  the controversial parliamentarian ranked himself among the most powerful and influential leaders in the larger Siaya county linking the same to his political nickname 'Meli' in the ground.

He said that he was given the name by his constituents based on his political strength and powers as well as his spotless leadership.

"They call me 'Meli' which translates to ship in Swahili. I got the name because my people say I am strong and cannot be pulled or swayed. I am as strong and huge like a ship," he said.

He added that unlike his predecessors, most of whom have served only one term, he will serve for three terms of five years each.

"It's true that my people have been voting my predecessors after a single term but I will be different," he said.

"I have identified what they have been lacking and I am already giving it to them. We have agreed that I will serve for 15 years," he added.

However, his few years in office have been marred with cases of controversy and several accusations of involvement in assault cases.
