Olunga now wants the Nakuru-based company to compensate him.

In his petition, he argues that the Oil company used an AFCON image for promotional purposes without his consent.

It is believed that, Menengai Oil tweeted the image during the Harambee Stars' Total AFCON 2019 tournament, wishing Kenya success in Egypt.

The said photo had Wanyama on the forefront, with Olunga and Ovella Ochieng on the background captioned with; "If you believe it, you can do it."

Having filed the case at Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday, the striker argues that the message was not meant to wish Harambee Stars good luck during the AFCON outing, instead it aimed at promoting the Menengai's products and as a result, he wants to be paid for breach of image rights.

"The petitioner is a male adult who is a professional football player in the Japanese Second League, currently signed to Kashiwa Reysol in Chiba, Japan and also a star member of the Kenya National Football Team, "The Harambee Stars"," read part of Olunga's court papers as quoted by Goal.
