It is another blow for Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) record label after their latest song 'Mwanza' failed to adhere to the National Arts Council of Tanzania (Basata) conditions.
Basata banned the song due to its alleged vulgar lyrics.
Singer Rayvanny had featured his boss Diamond Platnumz in the new hit released a on Monday evening.
Sources from Tanzania indicated the song would not be played in any local stations nor in any functions within Tanzania.
"Baraza la Sanaa Tanzania(BASATA) limetangaza kuufungia wimbo mpya wa Mwanza kwa maelezo kuwa unahamasisha masuala yasiyokubalika katika jamii-Katibu Mtendaji BASATA, Godfrey Mngereza amesema leo Novemba 12 kuwa wameufungia wimbo huo na kupiga marufuku kuchezwa mahali popote-Ameongeza kuwa wanawasiliana na mamlaka nyingine ili kuchukua hatua zaidi kwa kuwa tayari wimbo umeenea mitandaoni-Kuhusu kupigwa katika tamasha lao la Wasafi linalotarajiwa kuanza kutimua vumbi Novemba 24 mwaka huu amesema nalo watalifungia iwapo watautumia," a source from Tanzania said on Instagram.
Diamond Platnumz who is yet to respond to the ban had earlier shared a short video of the same song thanking his dancers among other individuals who took part in the recording.
Diamond's songs are widely loved at the Kenyan Coast.
