Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga could yet again have his fitness to continue attending public functions questioned after a video of him appearing to be dozzing off surfaced on social media.
In a video posted on social media, Mr Odinga is seen closing eyes for a short prayer after which, he struggles to wake up when presentations were going on during the launching of Huduma Namba in Mombasa.
After waking up, Mr Odinga lashed at Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro over the bill which seeks to clip powers of DPP Noordin Haji and DCI George Kinoti, who he accuses of being biased in the fight against corruption.
"There is an MP (Nyoro) who has introduced a bill to clip powers of DPP and DCI. Is this MP normal? Should I conclude that he's a madman? You cannot do that when we are seriously fighting the war against corruption," he stated.
Earlier in his speech, Odinga is seen entertaining his audience by signing a classical Swahili song leaving all attendees in stitches. He was official guest in the launch of the exercise.
He tweeted: "Joined the residents of Likoni in Mombasa County and took the opportunity to register at the launch of the National Integrated Identity Management System- Huduma Namba registration exercise."
It's not the first time Mr Odinga has been captured in cameras dozzing in a public event given that he was pictured previously during NASA campaigns sleeping or having a nap.
The Huduma Namba registration was launched on Tuesday and would see Kenyans registered digitally. However, High Court ruled that the registration is not mandatory besides barring government from taking GPS coordinates and DNA samples.
