In a letter on Tuesday, the commission invited Mr Teya and Angwenyi to record a statement at their offices, citing claims that he has failed to discharge the latter duties despite forgery claims he's facing.

"You are hereby invited to report and record statements over Mr George Angwenyi. You are yet to relief him duties despite criminal investigations he's facing," the letter reads.

In an interview, Mr Angwenyi said he will owner the summons but accused former speaker and North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko for allegedly pursuing the case despite blocking the prosecution in 2016.

According to him, Mr Nyamoko is accusing him of betraying his team in several corruption scandals that have rocked the assembly since his exit in 2017.

"I will owner the summons and there is no doubt about that. But it's just witch-hunt and the matter was dismissed in court. I am ready to face my accusers," he said.

Mr Angwenyi is accused of forging a promotion certificate to the rank of Chief Inspector besides using a certificate which purportedly belongs to another person.

The case was first brought to the attention of the authorities but it has dragged in court due to numerous court orders, but Angwenyi insists it's instigated by Nyamoko and former clerk Daniel Orina.
