Keroka Traffic Commander Abigael Mejo while addressing riders in Keroka town on Sunday warned bodaboda riders against violence ahead of the elections.

"I want to reiterate that no form of violence will be condoned during the campaigns and elections. Riders across the county are encouraged to embrace peace and unity for the sake of ensuring that the elections are conducted peacefully," said the commander.

Mejo urged those who will be contesting for the various seats in the bodaboda sector not to stir violence amongst riders as they campaign.

The commander confirmed that there are enough police officers to respond in case of any violence.

"There is no cause of alarm because we have enough police officers to ensure no violence rises from the campaigns and elections. Anyone intending to interrupt is advised to keep off," he added.

Masaba North bodaboda chairman Dominic Babu who was present echoed Mejo's sentiments and assured that the riders will elect their leaders on July 2, 2019, peacefully.

He warned politicians against facilitating riders to cause havoc.
