A form 4 student shocked residents after he eloped with a class 8 girl.
The two were reportedly went missing on Wednesday from their Kehancha home in Migori County.
Elias Nyabongoe, a form 4 student in a local secondary school is said to have eloped with the minor only identified as Milka.
"Nyabongoe left his home on Tuesday with the minor after his parents gave him Sh5,000 to pay school fees. We suspect they went into hiding in the neighbouring Sirare town,” said Frank Oyugi, the girl’s father.
Oyugi said his daughter started misbehaving immediately she registered for her KCPE exams.
Mark Mbadi, the local chief said the two are being traced to Sirare town.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure the two are nabbed and be taken back to school. Parents should stop giving huge sums of money to their children who may end up embezzling the money instead of paying school fees,” he said.
The administrator warned that school girls and boys found engaging in illicit love affair will be caned mercilessly.
