The DP is not taking any chances in his push for the top seat and is laying ground that could see him take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto is keen on garnering votes from across the country and is currently eyeing the support of key political figures in the country.

Ukambani is one of the regions DP Ruto will be hoping to get massive votes in 2022 but it might not be easy for him unless he secures support of key Kamba politicians.

Here are Kamba politicians who DP Ruto should consider working with in order to get the Ukambani votes in the coming  2022 general election. 

1. Johnstone Muthama

The former Machakos Senator is a political voice in Ukambani politics and is being taunted as the next possible Kamba political kingpin.

A close ally of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Muthama commands a huge political base and could help DP Ruto garner votes in the region if they work together.

2. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr 

The Makueni Senator’s political influence and popularity is steadily rising and could be the next big voice in Kamba politics.

He enjoys massive support among young people in Ukambani and could be of help big help to DP Ruto if they work together.

3. Charity Ngilu 

The Kitui Governor is among veteran female politicians in Ukambani and the country at large.

Nicknamed 'Mama Rainbow' governor Ngilu became Kenya's first woman to contest for the presidency in 1997 and could help DP Ruto garner Kamba votes in 2022 if they work together.

4. Kalonzo Musyoka

The former Vice President is the Kamba political leader and is eyeing the presidential seat in the coming 2022 general election. 

Kalonzo has not ruled out the possibility of working with like-minded politicians in 2022 polls. 

The Wiper Party leader can help DP Ruto harvest Ukambani votes in 2022 if they agree to work together. 

It is a matter of wait and see on the strategy DP Ruto will adopt to garner Ukambani votes in the coming 2022 general election.
