Nairobi governor has sent a stern warning to criminal governors who have been associated to the recent murder of university student Sharon Otieno and the shooting of former Garissa executive Idris Mukhtar.
Sonko now says the said governors should rot in jail if found responsible for the heinous acts.
"People are speaking in low tones over the recent criminal cases involving governors. Let us not deceive one another, the main suspects are my fellow governors and they should just rot in jail if found guilty," said Sonko. He was speaking during the memorial service of his late father.
Sonko further warned the council of governors to desist from calling for press conferences in defence of the said governors.
"I now am telling the Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok who is the CoG Chairman not to call for any press conferences to defend murderers. We cannot and shall never defend a murderer in any case," the visibly angry Sonko concluded.
Governor who has been lately linked to criminal cases include Ali Korane of Garissa county and Okoth Obado of Migori county.
Korane has been adversely mentioned for hiring gunmen to shoot former CEC. Okoth Obado has on his part been linked to a tragic affair that eventually led to the murder of Sharon Otieno.
