Master Kevin Mong'are, dressed in school uniforms, was on Wednesday paraded by furious Tasia residents who threatened to lynch him for 'conning' them.

Journalist Dennis Kirwa, who is privy to unfolding events, said the school boy comes from North Mugirango in Nyamira and is currently held by residents.

In his conversation with him, the boy claimed that he was abandoned by the father at the Industrial Area and since then, he has been unable to reach him.

"Reports reaching my desk is that this boy by the name Kevin Mong'are from Ikonge ,Nyankono village North Mugirango is facing death at Nairobi's Tasia estate on claims that he's a conman," he said.

"I have talked to him and he claims that he his father by the names Josephat Mong'are yesterday left him somewhere at Industrial area where he works as a watchman but since then he has not got in touch with him," added Kirua.

But some of the residents claim that it's now the first time the school boy is lying to them. Last year, he is said to have solicited for money to go back home in Nyamira.

Furious residents of Tasia, majority of them from Gusii, threatened to torch him, with some rounding him on a car tyre ready for the action. Police had not arrived at the scene.

It's not the first time children are abandoned by parents at the streets of Nairobi. Recently, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro rescued a school going boy from Rigoma in Nairobi.
