Therefore, this means knowing and shopping in places that sell things at a pocket-friendly price.

Here are five inexpensive places to shop in Nairobi:

1.Gikomba

Cool kids call it G-stores.

This is one place you can get cheap but quality 'mitumba' clothes, shoes, beddings, and even household items.

It is that place where you can find dresses priced at Ksh 50, and tops for even less! Go there with Ksh1000, and you will have a whole new wardrobe.

The trick of this place though is, 'the early bird catches the worm'. If you go as early as 5 am, you’re guaranteed of nice, cheap items.

2.Kamukunji

This is a market place for household items like cooking ware, cutlery, mugs, plates, carpets, and any other homely item that comes to your mind.

You can save a lot of money when you shop here because they sell a variety of items at a wholesale price.

3.Dubois Road

This is a one-stop lane for all sorts of beauty products, jewellery, hair products, and perfumes, at very low prices.

However, stay woke for counterfeits. Always be sure to read the back of every product you purchase to be sure it's genuine.

It is a cool place, but it needs a third eye.

4.Marikiti

Home of cheap vegetables.

Here, you can buy all sorts of vegetables at special cheap prices.

For instance, you can get a bunch of spinach for as little as Sh 15, around five tomatoes at Sh10, and four maize cobs going at Sh 20.

5.River Road

Just like Gikomba, River road is also an all under one roof place.

From household items to electronics, underwear and bras, River road has everything.

Various shops sell braids very cheaply as well as bras, panties and boxers, both new, and of good quality.

Hawkers also display clothes on the sidewalks if you aren’t up to the task of getting to Gikomba.

It is a pretty convenient place but also beware of counterfeits.
