An aviation company whose plane took off leaving Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo stranded at the airport in Nairobi on Friday has apologised to the lawmaker.
Silverstone Airline in its apology to Otiende Amollo said the issue was being looked at after the mishap that happened at the Wilson Airport, Nairobi.
"We regret the inconvenience Mheshimiwa, the matter is receiving urgent attention for resolution," the airline said in a tweet.
Earlier on, Otiende had complained that a Silverstone Airline plane had abandoned him at Wilson Airport even after he checked in at the appropriate time.
It is not yet clear where the MP was travelling to.
In response to the company's apology, the MP questioned how the plane departed with travel data at Wilson Airport showing that he was on board when in the actual sense he was on the ground.
"How does an airline take-off showing a passenger as being on board yet they have left him on the ground? Please explain in a language I can understand!" the furious lawyer-cum politician said.
Silverstone Airline is among local air travel firms plying the Nairobi-Mombasa, Nairobi-Kisumu and Mombasa-Kisumu routes.
The company recently launched direct flights from Mombasa-Kisumu in a lavish ceremony that involved giving free tickets to leaders from Kisumu and their families to fly for free from the lakeside town to Mombasa and back to Kisumu.
