Garissa County Government has sacked five employees in what is said to be a clean up in an organisation that has for long been battling with poor service delivery.

 In a statement, the Garissa Water and Sewerage Company (GAWASCO) on Thursday announced that it had terminated the contracts of five individuals effective 26 September 2018. 

The sacked individuals include the following;

1. Abdi Sheikh Abdullahi Yunis alias Abdi Baqad

2. Roble Aden Jooga 

3. Emanuel Mutuko

4. Abdikadir Barrow

5. Jamal Shafi'i 

"The individuals herein mentioned are no longer employees of the Garissa Water and Sewerage Company (GAWASCO) with effect from 26th September 2018. They are not authorized to represent the company in any matters whatsoever. Any person dealing with them shall do so at his or her own risk and responsibility," reads the statement in part.

Contacted for comment, one of the sacked individuals, Abdikadir Barrow, declined to respond to the sacking saying that he was yet to receive his sacking letter.
