People think that it is a death sentence if you are infected. However, there are celebrities who have confessed their status.
1. Frigacy
This self-proclaimed gay artist had revealed that he was positive. When he was interviewed by the Nairobian, he confessed that he started drug abuse while still in high school. He is the man behind Mapenzi hit. Unfortunately, he died mysteriously.
2. Richard Amouk
He is the second celebrity on our list to confess being positive. He is a music genius and his contribution to Ukoo Flani and Achong Pong Clan is everlasting. The parties he loved bestowed the disease upon him, which he initially denied before accepting the condition and breaking the news to the public.
3. Joji Baro
Baro is one of the most dedicated protectors of gay rights in the country. Interestingly, he is a gospel artist and he does not fear to share his positive status. Unfortunately, his family disowned him.
On the other hand, there are celebrities who have come out to prove to the public that they are indeed negative despite the skewed public judgment of their lives.
Nairobi's Huddah Monroe had to confirm to Kenyans back in 2014 that she was indeed negative.
This happened during the World’s Aids Day. Her fellow socialite from Nairobi, Vera Sidika, had to do the same after it was rumored that she was positive.
Vera posted her results online as Vanessa Chettle did after similar allegations.
