A 46-year-old man from Manga in Nyamira County is currently recuperating at a local hospital after he was thoroughly beaten by his wife for allegedly failing to pay his daughter's school fees.
The man was beaten on Sunday evening.
Witnesses said trouble started when the victim Emmanuel Ayieko returned home drunk.
"Ayieko has ventured fully into alcohol consumption abandoning his responsibilities as a man. His wife Eunice Bonareri attacked him because he used money to buy alcohol at a local chang'aa den instead of paying their daughter's school fees," stated Elizabeth Mogesa.
Mrs Mogega said the victim sustained serious injured on the back of his head.
Area local administrator Fred Obae said Ayieko's daughter was promoted to form four (4).
"Ayieko must pay school fees for his daughter failure to which he will look his own village to reside," he said.
He said he has already summoned the couple to appear in his office on Tuesday.
"A medic attending to Ayieko said he will be discharged from hospital on Monday evening. I want to meet the couple in may office tomorrow to hear their story," he added.
He warned parents against condoning their children at home during school days.
