This comes only a week after four remandees escaped from the police at Stella, Uriri sub-county, in the same county.

Area police boss Hamed Abdikadir confirmed the incident adding that the inmate was one month into his 3 year jail term, reports Citizen Digital.

He further noted that the prisoner who was deployed to clean the prison compound alongside his colleagues escaped by jumping over the fence.

According to Hamed, the inmate who was found guilty of stealing a motorcycle disappeared in a nearby thicket

In the earlier incident, the remandees jumped off a police vehicle and managed to get away.

The suspects all of whom were cuffed at the time of the incident escaped into a nearby sugarcane plantation.

They were being ferried from the Rongo Law Courts to the Migori GK Prison.

They are still at large, and the police have since requested the public to lend a hand by giving out information that could lead to their arrest.
