An 80-year-old granny from Ramba Village in Nyamira South Sub County on Wednesday created drama as she chased away Huduma Namba registration clerks.
According to the son to the granny Ezekiel Machogu, her mother claimed the Huduma Namba clerks had liaised with him to steal her money from the bank.
“I called upon the Huduma Namba clerks who were on a mission to register the old as well as the disabled to register my mother only to for her to turn them away claiming they are not legit and she won’t disclose any information to them as she is aware they want to steal from her,” said Machogu.
The granny identified as Sarah Machogu claimed that he hasn’t been receiving any help from the government all the years and she doesn’t see a good reason to why she should hold Huduma Namba.
In an interview, Sarah further said she will only register for the Huduma Namba if she won’t disclose any of her identification details.
“Let them know that I care about my life and I fear they will steal my savings that am currently using to survive” claimed Sarah.
However, area Huduma Namba officer Roseline Momanyi urged the elderly to ensure that they take Huduma Namba as it has no negative impact.
