Kieni lawmaker Kanini Kega has distanced himself from both the Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga factions of the ruling Jubilee Party, saying that he is not allied to any.
Speaking on Wednesday, the MP said that the groups only exist on the minds of their members and the media, but do not have any form of solidity or acknowledgement in the party.
He added thy he is not planning to take any side, insisting that he was elected to office to represent his people and not to join political unions without any ideological benefits.
However, he reiterated his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta, who enjoys the full backing by Kieleweke team, while dismissing the groups as self-centred.
"Mimi naviskia tu na kuviona katika runinga. Mimi nilichaguliwa kuwakilisha watu wangu ambao walinituma nifanye kazi na Uhuru. Wewe umewahi kuwaskia hao wanasiasa wakiongelea mambo ya Wanjiku? (I only hear about them and see them on television. I was elected to represent my people and support the President. Have you heard any of the groups championing for the interests of ordinary Kenyans)," he posed.
The second-term Jubilee Party MP was speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show on Wednesday morning, where he slammed the groups for engaging in cheap politics.
He took issue with their attacks and insults, terming them primitive and uncalled for noting they should cease and work for Kenyans.
"Mimi nataka kulaani vikundi hivi kwa sababu hawaongelei mambo ya Wanjiku mbali ni kutukanana tu katika makanisa. Ni lini ulisikia wakiongelea mambo ya ajira? (I want to curse them for engaging in insults iantead of representing the people. Have you heard them raise issues about matters do with unemployment)," he added.
Unlike Kieleweke which is calling for political calm as has been directed by Uhuru, Tanga Tanga team which is in support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid has remained politically active.
