The County Government of Mombasa has refined the County Fiscal Strategy Paper 2019/2020 (CFSP) which is due for public participation on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Tononoka Social Hall.
The 2019 CFSP, identifies the broad strategic priorities and policy goals that will guide the County government in preparing its budget for the Financial Year 2019/2020 and the Medium Term in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act 2012.
Led by County Executive for Finance and Economic Planning Maryam Mbaruk together with County Secretary Francis Thoya, County Chief Officers and directors from across the County departments held a refine meeting which was spearheaded by the Department of Finance and Economic Planning.
The meeting saw participants coming up with tentative proposals of how they are going to tackle emerging challenges that are hampering developmental plans in the County such as its current huge wage bill, staff underperformance among other issues.
The County proposed priority areas are increased accessibility to water and food security, improved health services, streamlined waste management services, provision of quality education, gender empowerment, youth and sports development, improved land and housing services and investing in infrastructure development.
