According to the commentator, the DP stands very low chances of winning the presidency, observing that the favour lies on the side of former Premier Raila Odinga instead.

Speaking on Wednesday, Anyonka said that Raila appears to have won the heart of the deep state, which influences the polls and decides who ascends to the presidency in each election.

He argued that this could be the reason behind Ruto's dirty name, claiming that the group is already at work to make him dirty in the eyes of Kenyans, and consequently push for his loss.

"Chances are high that there are fears about Ruto becoming president in 2022. They fear him because each scandal seems to be touching him. The deep state cannot be comfortable with such a person if there is an alternative," he said.

It loosely translates to in Kiswahili: "Kuna kila uwezekano eti kuna woga DP kuwa rais 2022. Wana woga na mambo ya Ruto maana kila scandal imekuwa ikimgusa. Deep state hawawezi kuwa comfortable na mtu kama huyo if there is an alternative."

The commentator who was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha described the deep state as a group of influential persons from the business and intelligence class, who have an interest in national and business matters.

On the other hand, he said, Raila seems to be basking in the admiration of the deep state and could be in the process of being cleaned before being fronted as their preferred candidate.

He termed this the reason behind Raila's sudden change of behaviour from his initial aggressive nature, predicting that the could be the man to watch in 2022.

"For the past few years, about two, Raila has changed, there are no fights anywhere. Maybe he is being cleaned," he added.

He added that it is the same deep state that has prevented Raila's presidency in his four past bids, but appears to be on his side this time around.
