Opinion makers and political pundits continue to express their views about the possibility of the candidates winning, retaining or losing their seats and this continues to ignite Kenyan politics.

As Deputy President William Ruto seeks to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, two of his allies are yet to reveal their next move.

The two leaders from Rift Valley are quite instrumental in shaping DP Ruto's political future.

 1. Jackson Mandago

Mandago is serving his second term as the Governor of Uasin Gishu County.

He is a strong opinion maker in Rift Valley's politics and a close ally of DP Ruto. Mandago has not hinted on whether he will quit politics or go for any other seat.

2. Kipchumba Murkomen

The firebrand Elgeyo Marakwet Senator will not be defending his seat due to constitutional restrictions.

Murkomen is a close confidant to Ruto and a strong believer of his 2022 presidential dreams. His young age may prevent the controversial lawyer from leaving politics and is definitely yet to announce his next move.

Murkomen is likely to become the next Elgeyo Marakwet’s Governor though he has not intimated on vying for the seat come 2022.
