President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed former Wundanyi MP to a state job.
Thomas Mwadeghu, a close ally of former prime minister Raila Odinga, who unsuccessfully vied for the Taita Taveta gubernatorial seat on an ODM party ticket in August 2017, was appointed as a member of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority board for three years.
The former ODM minority whip in the National Assembly had maintained a low political profile after losing to Wiper's Granton Samboja.
In a gazette notice which takes effect from September 20, Kenyatta also made several other appointments, including:
NASA CEO Norman Magaya - Appointed to serve in the board of Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) for three years.
Former Kitui Senator David Musila - Appointed as the chairman of the National Museums of Kenya board for three years.
Politician Kisoi Munyao - Appointed to serve in the Export Processing Zones Authority board for three years.
Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Bundotich Buzeki - Appointed Sony Sugar Company board chairperson.
Former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga - Appointed chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund for three years.
Former University of Nairobi student leader David Osiany - Appointed board member of Chemelil Sugar Company for three years.
Lawyer Mugambi Imanyara - Appointed chairman, Kenya Industrial Estates board for three years.
Late IEBC IT boss Chris Msando's widow, Eva Buyu - Appointed member of the Export Processing Zones Authority board for three years.
Former IEBC chairman Issack Hassan - Appointed chairperson of the Kenya Industrial Institute for three years.
Former Senate Speaker Ekwee Ethuro - Appointed chairman of the Higher Education Loans Board for five years.
Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) vice chairperson Faith Waigwa - Appointed chairperson of Procurement Administrative Review board for three years.
The list of new parastatal bosses and members leaves out staunch Coast Jubilee party politicians who widely campaigned for Uhuru's re-election or declared support for Jubilee administration after being trounced in the 2017 elections.
They include; Former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar, former Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu, and former Mombasa Deputy Governor Hazel Katana.
