Keen to chart her own political path, Katana threw the hat into the ring to contest the Mombasa Senatorial seat which she lost to ODM’s Mohamed Faki.

However, being Uhuru’s biggest political catch in the pro-Raila region, the former NGO director was assured of government appointment. But for her and former Senator Hassan Omar, the waiting continues.  However, at one point, patience will run out.

Amid talks that President Uhuru Kenyatta was about to reorganize his government, the reports that were later dismissed by State House and ODM leader Raila Odinga, Katana would have maybe bounced back with a top state job.

With all top government positions filled so far, what does future hold for Katana? There is no doubt that she may be forced to rethink her political future and possibly make a U-turn and work with erstwhile friends.

If not, she may be consigned into political dustbins.
