Garissa Woman Representative Anab Subow Gure has once again won the hearts of locals after she donated tuk-tuks and bodabodas to vulnerable groups in her county.
Gure donated at least 15 motorbikes and 2 tuk-tuks to 17 youth and women groups in a move she claimed was aimed at empowering them financially.
"In my bid to empower economically, I donated 15 motorbikes and 2 tuk-tuks to 17 groups consisting of women, youth and persons with disabilities derived from all the six constituencies of Garissa county," she said in a statement on Facebook.
While reiterating personal commitment to serving the locals, Gure maintained that families that have been most affected by the socio-economic hardship and poverty were top on her list for empowerment programmes.
"My goal is to provide income support for families most affected by socio-economic hardship and poverty. We must empower the vulnerable among us so that we record significant progress in their lives," Gure added.
This happens even as she vowed to support sporting activities in the county as a way of developing and nurturing talents.
She said this as she hosted top officials and players of Berlin FC before they departed to Italy for their LaLaLiga training.
