The Dusit D2 terror attack has affected the tourism sector especially at the coast.
The attack in the capital city has forced tourism stakeholders to take precautionary measures.
Coast Regional Police Commandant Marcus Ochola led regional police bosses in assuring international and local tourists that all will be well.
“Following Nairobi’s attack, we have carried out various operations across the region where we netted people who have been arraigned in court for various offences,” Ochola said as quoted by Sunday Nation.
The Tourism Federation of Kenya and Kenya Coast Tourism Association (KCTA) joined the security personnel in assuring visitors that Kenya was safe.
KCTA chairperson Victor Shitaka revealed that 250 Coast hotels had beefed up their security while Tourism Federation of Kenya chair Mohamed Hersi stated that all transport systems had been secured.
Hersi promised to update all stakeholders on the progress the federation will be making concerning security.
