Njoroge who is pursuing an Economic course at the institution revealed how he was motivated to start the odd job of hawking eggs and sausages, which is now his source of income."When I joined Kenyatta University two years ago, I saw many business opportunities within the institution and because I am business minded, the job which I saw could earn me a lot of income was to sell eggs and sausages," Njoroge said.Njoroge revealed how he had to undergo many challenges before adapting to the business."I had little capital and I borrowed money from my brother who is a coffee farmer. At first, I used to earn poorly because I was a new face to most of the people here," said Njoroge.Despite all the challenges he underwent, he kept improving gradually and by early this year, he had many customers which saw an increase in his daily income.Njoroge revealed that he used the money he earned to secure a room on the outskirts of the university where he could attract more customers."I used to move around hawking eggs and sausages but now after saving my income, I have acquired a room outside the campus, which also operates as a small hotel. I have hired three people who run the business as I concentrate on my studies," he said.Njoroge is now a happy man as the profit he makes on a daily basis has increased tremendously."When I started the business two years ago, I used to earn between Sh800 to Sh1200 a day. However, with my improved conditions of working, I make between Sh2,000 to Sh3,000 a day after deducting all expenses," Njoroge said."With the money I earn, I am now able to pay my school fees and I am also planning to expand my already booming business," Njoroge added while encouraging his fellow youths to look for jobs they can do on the side.#MyJob
