Governor Ali Hassan Joho has wished Kenyans success, as they usher-in 2019.
"On behalf of the people of Mombasa, my family and my own behalf, I wish you all a Happy and prosperous New Year," he said.Citing the building bridges initiative, Joho urged Kenyans to ensure 2019 becomes a year of unity.
"Let us make 2019 a special year of uniting all Kenyans by building bridges between communities and across the political divide as propagated by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga," he added.

The County Government of Mombasa organised an entertainment event that saw residents and revelers gather at Mama Ngina Drive to welcome the New Year 2019.
Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir also attended the event which brought together coastal artists.
On December 30, Joho conveyed his deepest condolences to Amb. Francis Muthaura and his family following the death of his mother Mama Salome Muthaura.
"May the Almighty assuage your grief and grant you all patience and strength. May He also rest her soul in eternal peace."
